G'day folks,

Been a while since I last posted anything, but have actually been real busy, not holidaying in the Caribbean as some may have thought. The big news is I have album No 4 in the can! I have stuck to my album a year schedule, although this one looks like coming out early next year so we'll have to sit tight. More news on the as yet untitled new record to follow. But I'm quietly excited...

In the meantime I have a record coming out with my bluegrass mates The Wilson Pickers. It's a great little record called 'Land of the Powerful Owl' which we recorded in 3 days late last year, featuring 11 original compositions of our brand of bluegrass inspired music. The band is basically a collaboration of mates Sime Nugent, Danny Widdicombe, Ben Salter, John Bedggood and myself. We have already toured with The Panics and The Black Keys, and we're really looking forward to launching the album proper in October. For a sneak preview go to www.myspace.com/thewilsonpickers

That's about it for now, there's a free show coming up on July 20 at the Brisbane Powerhouse with my band and Dan Parsons supporting, and then a return to the annual Gympie Muster in August which will be a hoot.

Til then, stay well, Andrew.

ALBUM REVIEWS

Union Bars has been getting some fine reviews around the country. Here's some snippets, full reviews in the 'press' section.

"The infectious single Here You Are, There You Go has a Go Betweens feel and is incredibly memorable from the start. Heres a writer with a tale to tell and an ability to keep the melody interesting. The album is a real winner."
Sebastian Skeet, DRUM MEDIA

"If Morris had the profile of Pete Murray et al, his vocals would be ranked among the best in the country. Surely that secret can't be kept much longer."
Patrick Lion, THE COURIER MAIL

"Brisbane singer-songwriter Andrew Morris is back and in fine, albeit different, form with his third album Union Bars. This latest effort still finds Morris growing even more confident in both his songwriting and voice"
Justin Grey, TIME OFF

"It's always exciting when an artist starts to surpass already excellent work. Honestly, look out for Andrew Morris and get on board his wagon now, before it gets too crowded at the bar to feel you've had your fill."
David Jobling, INDAILY

"Union Bars sounds like a full-blooded rock album, with the individualistic stamp of Morris' bittersweet lyrics and just-plain-sweet melodies."
Matt Thrower, RAVE

"Brisbane's Morris writes a damn fine song"
Bernard Zuel, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD
